In the current issue of Trouble, Julie Ditrich looks at where Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston drew inspiration for his Amazon princess:
“Marston based her on two important women in his life—his accomplished wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston and his former student and research assistant Olive Byrne. Marston lived openly with both of them in a blissful but scandalous polyamorous relationship. By all accounts the women got along famously. Indeed, they had four children to him between them, and they lived together for forty years after his death.”
